Petition Seeks Supreme Court Review of MA Blaine Amendment

On October 19, the Becket Fund filed a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court requesting review of the recent decision of the First Circuit Court of Appeals in Wirzburger v. Galvin, which rejected First Amendment challenges to the Massachusetts Blaine Amendment, a vestige of 19th Century nativism that continues to this day to prohibit vouchers and other religion-neutral educational funding programs.
