Hack v. Yale

We have submitted an amicus brief to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in support of four Orthodox Jewish students who are seeking alternatives to the coed dormitories offered by Yale. The students, whose faith prevents them from living in the atmosphere of casual intermingling of men and women and exposure to immodest dress (and undress) found in the dorms at Yale, seek to either be provided by Yale with alternative housing or to be permitted to opt out of the dorms and seek private housing near the school. Our brief argues that Yale has violated the provisions of the Fair Housing Act that protect religious minorities.
