Fisher v. South Bend School Board

The Becket Fund successfully defended 11 year old Bryce Fisher, a public school student in South Bend, Indiana, who was prohibited from reading the Bible during an open reading period at school. Our efforts have led the South Bend school board to institute a policy treating the sacred writings of all religions to be used on an equal basis with other literature for purposes of academic study.
