Monica joined The Becket Fund from Fordham Law School, where she received her J.D. with honors and served as an editor on the International Law Journal and as a research assistant at the Feerick Center for Social Justice Law. While a law student, Monica had experiences working as a summer associate at the New York office of White & Case LLP, as a research assistant at the U.S. Attorney’s office in Manhattan, and as a summer intern at a legal aid NGO in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Prior to law school, Monica graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, with a B.A. in History and Latin American Studies. She received history department honors for her thesis on Church-State relations in early 20th Century Mexico. Afterwards, she remained at Notre Dame to complete an M.A. in Theology, which she is finding relevant to her legal career in unexpected ways now that she is at Becket.
